Bruno Schnieders “Bruneau” Sculpture 1990 WOODPECKER Mexican Ofrenda Alter Piece Sculpture . Bruno Schnieders is a postwar, contemporary painter who became a cult figure in Belgium during the 1980s. Known for his simple stroke work, bold colors and irreverent subject matter; “Bruneau” is not afraid to push the limit of cultural mores. Bruneau’s 1990 sculpture “WOODPECKER” is a perfect example of his cheeky and irreverent interpretation of the Mexican ofrenda alter.
